AI and Technology Principles and Guidance

16 October, 2025

To coincide with AI week, which runs from 13 to 24 October 2025, we are pleased to have published our first AI and Technology Principles and Guidance

The eleven Principles and Guidance are the result of a truly collaborative effort from members of the CLC’s AI and Technology Working Group, and incorporate input and feedback provided by stakeholders across the wider sector, including probate and conveyancing practices, lenders, insurers and technology providers working in the sector.

The non-mandatory Principles set out eleven high-level expectations covering key issues and risks, while the Guidance, which is also non-mandatory, aims to provide context, practical advice and prompts to explain the Principles and help practices identify steps they can take to ensure technology is implemented and used responsibly, safely and ethically, protecting the interests of clients and practices alike.

The Guidance will be an evolving document to be updated as technology evolves, and over time, as issues evolve and opportunities emerge to share learning, it will be updated and case studies included.
