Switching regulators is something many firms consider but often shy away from. It can be perceived as being difficult and lengthy and firms worry about continuation of service for their clients and from their insurer.
One firm who has made the switch, eight years ago as a trailblazer, is Nottinghamshire’s Fidler & Pepper. We spoke to one of the firm’s directors, and chief technology officer, Mark Slade, about why switching regulators was one of the best moves the firm has made.
Since its inception in 2012, Key Conveyancing has grown to become one of the country’s largest conveyancing specialists. Founded by friends and work colleagues Sebastian Sgoluppi and John Turner, the firm now employs over 120 staff across five offices in the South Midlands and is soon to open its sixth.
Sebastian along with Carrie Chilton, partner and operations director, who has also been with the firm from day one, talk to us about their journey, their decision to switch to CLC regulation in 2022, and why, in an increasingly demanding industry, it’s so important to have a supportive regulator.
RG Law is a firm of conveyancing, wills and probate specialists with offices in Sidcup and York, which switched over to CLC regulation in 2019. We spoke to managing director Matt Gillies, who set up the firm with Karen Marsh in 2007, about what led to the decision to change regulators – and why he wishes he’d done it sooner.
