BSA Mortgage Instructions
15/12/2009
The BSA is introducing a set of mortgage instructions for its members. The aim is that the instructions will ensure that all building societies and other BSA members have access to a full set of standard instructions. The new instructions do not 'replace' the existing instructions but from 1 January 2010 will exist alongside them. Licensed Conveyancers being instructed by building societies will need to ensure they are clear what set of instructions they need to follow, though the building society will make this explicit in their initial contact with them.

There will be full conveyancing instructions for each of the following UK jurisdictions: England and Wales; Scotland; Northern Ireland; and Isle of Man. The Instructions are of the same standard as existing instructions.

Instructions for all parts of the UK come into effect from 1 January 2010. Further information can be found at www.bsa.org.uk
