HM Treasury has issued the attached Call for Evidence in its review of the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. It states that the aim of the review “is to understand how effective and proportionate the Regulations and their implementation are as a whole, how effective and proportionate the 2007 changes have been and what further improvements could be made, if any, to achieve the desired outcomes in the most effective, proportionate and engaging way”. As practitioners implementing the requirements of the Money Laundering, you are in an excellent position to comment on the current provisions. Please do so.

The Call for Evidence closes on Friday 11 December 2009.
